The University of Washington’s Department of Communication MA/PhD and PhD program offers students a diverse and integrated curriculum built on a broad theoretical and methodological foundation. From that foundation, students develop a program of study under the guidance of faculty mentors. A majority of our students also enroll in graduate courses outside of the department to develop additional expertise related to their research goals. Our curriculum also includes a series of professional development seminars focused on pedagogy, writing for publication, and public scholarship; generous financial support for conference travel; a variety of research grants; and opportunities to collaborate with faculty.
