Autumn 2025 Newsletter

Dear Friends of UW Communication,

I hope this newsletter finds you enjoying the spirit of the season as we head into the winter holidays. It has been a beautiful and productive Autumn quarter here on UW’s Seattle campus, where we continue to thrive amidst an ever changing world.

Earlier this quarter we held our annual Alumni Hall of Fame and Alumni of Distinction ceremony, celebrating alumni excellence across a breadth of generations and professional fields. That evening, I was struck by how much our programs have changed over the years, evolving to navigate a dynamic communication landscape. Communication and Journalism have been taught at the University of Washington for over a century. Our large community of alumni includes journalists, advertising executives, civic leaders, academic researchers, and more.  While we continue to focus on conducting cutting edge research and educating the next generation of communication leaders, it is also valuable to take stock of our past and preserve the memories and stories that have shaped us. That’s where you come in!
