2023-2024 Funding Priorities:
The Dolores Eyler Fund supports Communication students who encounter significant expenses due to unexpected and difficult circumstances. Realizing that such moments can cause great hardship for students and interfere with their studies and progress at the UW, this Fund provides unconditional grants — funds that do not need to be repaid — for students to help them through challenging situations.
The Crowell Graduate Student Fund honors Professor Emerita Laura Crowell, and is used exclusively by graduate students to support research in the Department of Communication. In particular, this fund supports graduate student travel to conferences to present papers that have been accepted, as well as research activities such as coding, transcription, and the duplication of surveys and other materials used by students in their research projects.
The Communications Annual Fund provides unrestricted support for the Department of Communication within the College of Arts and Sciences. Gifts to this fund are directed where they are needed most. Some examples of support include: career exploration trips to New York, California and around the Seattle area; continued development of our career-focused Career Kickstart courses and programs; cross-cultural engagement opportunities for minority students; and study abroad experiences in Europe and elsewhere.
