Find Your Voice. Shape What’s Next.
At UW Communication, you’ll learn to tell powerful stories, analyze the systems and discourses that shape our world, create meaningful connections, and lead with purpose.
Communication touches everything—culture, technology, health, politics, sports, entertainment, and community life. Whether you want to report the news, produce podcasts and digital media, build campaigns, contribute constructively to public discourse, or help organizations connect with their audiences, you’ll have the flexibility to pursue what matters to you.
Our two undergraduate degree programs—Communication and Journalism and Public Interest Communication (JPIC)—combine a strong liberal arts education with hands-on experience in storytelling, media analysis, audience engagement, and ethical communication. Build your portfolio through internships, student organizations, collaborative projects, and opportunities like reporting on the state legislature and learning in Spain or Italy.
Turn your interests into influence. Prepare for careers in journalism, advocacy, marketing, public affairs, tech, entertainment, education, and beyond.
Welcome to the COMM-unity!
